Kari Yli-Annala: The Spell
2 min, colour, silent / 2017
On the other hand The Spell is about the relation of a word and a spell and on the other hand on the relations between moving image, magic and reality. In the video the word ”Spell” appears and hangs in the air, changes it´s position in the location and disappears. A figure of a skeleton appears where the title has disappeared. In the end the animated skeleton performs a magic trick by removing it´s head and putting it back on it´s shoulders. The drawing of the skeleton is from a choreutoscope slide from the year 1866. |

Jarkko Räsänen: 8bitetude
5:48 / 2017
Experimental presentation video based on Ville-Matias Heikkilä’s discoveries about 1-line-of-code-composition in his blog: http://countercomplex.blogspot.de/2011/10/algorithmic-symphonies-from-one-line-of.html
8bitetude is a desktop recording of experimenting with online 8-bit-composer by Paul Hayes (based on Heikkilä’s discoveries also, as this is exstensively a natural scientific / mathematical discovery that can by repeated by anyone with basic programming skills) combined with further visual manipulation of the spectral data of the sounds created.
