Life
is lived right here and now – and where you are
The
TV series "Far out” tells the story of how some people
in Nordic
Rural Areas have managed to exploit the unique values you only can
find if you look around at the place where you are - here and now.
At
remote Nordic locations they are able to create art, music and business
because they lift the stones and look for the things that can only
be
found and experienced exactly here where they are. And when you
do that you sometimes come up with ideas, looks and sounds even
more modern than what they can managed in the big city.
Meet
the band ORKA from the Ferroe Islands who have reached the young
people in European the metropolis with their modern and groundbreaking
music played on self created instruments and recorded in a barn
at farm where one of the band members grew up.
The series “Far out” also include stories from the north
of Sweden a guy
who call himself “Haakki” creates art, design and business
out of being a hillbilly. In Sweden we also visit “the experimental
Theater group “The Theater Machine”. Here the members
live and perform their pieces on their location which is in a forest
far from the main cities. From the
northwest coast of Denmark we come across the very windy little
fishing
village where surfers now are settling and revitalizing the area.
The
surfers have named the place “cold Hawaii” and they
have success
promoting the uniqueness of the place and to surfers from all over
the
world. For them the remote location - weather and the strong winds
is a
friend - not as an opponent.
