STORYTELLER
Erin is a young storyteller who is currently part of the Scottish Storytelling Centre's Apprenticeship scheme. She has a lifelong interest in stories, from hearing both family legends and traditional folktales as a child, and is particularly fascinated with the connections between stories, places and landscapes, and the relationship between the natural and supernatural in folklore. Her love of landscape legends brought her to Orkney for the first time in 2011. Since then she has become involved with the Orcadian Story Trust, and is learning about how the physical and narrative landscapes of Orkney map onto one another from Tom Muir. As well as storytelling, Erin works with oral history and reminiscence, including recent work collecting oral histories of lighthouse keeping in Scotland. |
